WebPShift does not store, inspect, copy, or upload your images because we literally cannot see them. All decoding, conversions, and compression happen entirely inside your local web browser using HTML5 Canvas, OffscreenCanvas, and Web Workers.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
Because WebPShift is a client-side static application running on your device, we do not collect:
- Your image files or file names.
- Image metadata (EXIF data, geolocation, camera models, timestamps).
- Personal identifying information (names, emails, passwords, phone numbers).
- Financial or payment information (WebPShift is 100% free with no paywalls).
2. No Cookies and No Tracking
We do not use advertising cookies, marketing trackers, or invasive analytics pixels. The only browser storage used is your local choice of light or dark theme (stored in your browser’s localStorage), which never leaves your device.
3. How Client-Side Processing Protects You
Traditional cloud converters (like CloudConvert or Convertio) force you to transmit sensitive personal photos or company graphics over public internet lines to remote third-party servers.
WebPShift operates completely offline once loaded. You can disconnect your Wi-Fi, drop 100 images, and convert them—proving that zero data leaves your machine.
4. Infrastructure & Hosting
The static frontend assets (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) are hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process standard IP addresses solely for edge caching and DDoS mitigation as outlined in Cloudflare’s privacy terms, but your image files never travel to Cloudflare’s servers.
